So what floor themes should we use that the fans have suggested?

I liked the idea of a swamp/marsh. It may sound plain but i don't really like anything to ridiculous or overly unrealistic. Still it's a good idea and brings back memories from my time playing Runescape and was stuck in a swampy area for several days to finish a really hard quest

I like the floor frozen in time and the one maze-dungeon one (this one can be based on the Minotaur myth from Greek mythology, I think I mentioned this somewhere else in the forums)

I also liked the desert stage-with all the towns being underground and having ruins on top of it being covered by sand. and the floor that's completely under-water, and we could put the 1-cities floor on floor 99- that would feature some old faces- like the boar- and ill-fang Jr.

I wanted to move this convo here so that the fans don't see some of the ideas I think we should keep secret, but, about the hallucination floor, i think that the dungeon should attack you only if you mess up on something. We can have completely random puzzles w/ no hints and if you mess up than the dungeon will keep attacking you until you've done it right. An example of something I was thinking was having different colored floor tiles, and only one color will be "safe". If you step on another color while in that one section of the dungeon, then you will constantly be attacked until you're on the right color again.

but we don't tell anyone that there will be puzzles and we don't leave any hints within the quests on the floor. The players have to figure it out themselves.

that works. We could leave little hints, like the tiles leading up to the dungeon being the same color as the safe tiles or something. Or, better yet, you have to gather a bunch of that color tile for a quest in for an NPC, something completely random but that gives you the answer for the puzzle. Every puzzle could be linked to a specific quest on the floor, and each quest will give the player a hint w/out actually saying it outright.

oh, and w/ the new postings, I like the snake idea for a lower floor (if we still have space left XD) and the Alice and Wonderland theme for a mid-level dungeon.

I think the desert ruins idea is cool and i think for that floor there should be a Labyrinth with a Minotaur boss or something instead of a floor dedicated just to a whole maze. The tower could be made out of multiple Labyrinths and mazes instead. I think the art style could fit in well.
Having Medusa though would mean having two ancient greek styled floors though... plus i think she was a ranged enemy. It wouldn't work.

A mountainous floor could work but you have the floor height limit...
An overgrown floor would be a battle just to get through.
Underwater though? Can we just stick with Atlantis?
Having a floor made out of huge revolving Gears which change the positioning everynight in a floor could work or they could be constantly revolving but extremely slowly so if you don't take precautions you could get lost and find yourself facing another different direction after trying to farm or explore for too long and it could be like a flat desert or maybe have a few hills to make it harder to find our way back to the center Gear where the Floor City or town is based. In the heart of that safe zone could be a clock tower which controls the rotating gears.

Im still thinking up other things that we could use...

yeah, i was thinking the labyrinth floor would have a labyrinth as the dungeon and the rest of it would be ancient greek themed. the Medusa one I was thinking less of the legend, more of just a snake themed floor, and the most well known and powerful snake being medusa. Though I agree it's not a perfect idea, that's why i'd suggested it for one of the lower floors.

Actually, she wasn't a snake. She was a Gorgon, a female monster. And because of that why not make some secret side quests which reference mythology or something and shes the questgiver?

well, of course she's a gorgon, but if you look at how she's developed through popular culture she's turned into more of a "goddess of snakes". She's always had snake hair, but then she started being depicted w/ the lower body of a snake, her power to turn you to stone by looking at you was either weakened or removed entirely depending on where you see her in, etc. I'm cool if you guys don't like it for other reasons, but Medusa would work fairly easily.

These are a couple floor themes I came up with (not many, but I haven't had much time lately XD)

Post-apocalyptic (zombies, nuclear warefare, etc. just something that looks destroyed. It could even be a "what if society ended in the middle ages" kind of post apocalyptic, to keep with the themes of the rest of the game)

Nova-themed (like the name suggests, a lot of the floor will be based around the plot/characters/world of our other game, Nova)

Kaiju (everything's a Kaiju, the boss is a super-kaiju. Needless to say, this is a higher-floor idea XD)

Highschool, anime-style (ur basic anime highschool, either a high school for people w/ superpowers or a highschool w/ some kind of superpowered underground cult or something like that. Quests could be based on whatever theme we decide on for the school [which i can come up with if we like this world], but it will basically be an attempt at making players feel like they're living in a world where the various anime stereotypes are real)

again, not many, but tell me what you think XD

Zombies and nuclear warfare seems to "Off" for SAO. Nova and Kaiju i can support.
